If you are wondering why the new owners of the Lyric Theatre Hamilton (formerly the Westside on King Street West) elected to rename the original Kenmore movie house and one time CHCH-TV studio the Lyric Theatre, you need to start by exploring the history of live performance in Hamilton. Flash back to Vaudeville era venues like the Grand, Griffin, Temple, Savoy and Lyric. These grand theatres once defined live performance in Hamilton, but have since slipped through our hands leaving us only with nostalgic memories. This is where it all starts with the new owners of the Lyric Theatre Hamilton.

GRADE 8 May 17,18,19,2012 . Dwayne Morgan’s one man show is an impressive soul barring confession about the trials of raising a daughter alone. Morgan's flow is tight and solid, and when at times his monologue transforms into rap, the mercury rises; his powerful energy shines huge. This piece is intelligent, funny, and honestly performed. "Highly recommended.” View Magazine
BLUENESS OF JEANS Thusday - Friday, July 26-28, 2012 4 performances only. TOTTERING BIPED THEATRE “A pair of jeans in the world, the world in a pair of jeans. 'The Inconsolable Blueness of Jeans' understands the unremarkable incident of buying jeans at a mall as a global event: the vendor, manager, seamstress; the designer, the composer of the store music; the field where the cotton grew, the mine where the metal was taken ... It's a fable for the globalized world, it takes the interconnected web we are shaking daily and makes it real, human, and alive.”
